‘Energy Efficiency Improvement Project’ for JAICA |

| |
SLEMA has been contracted for this energy efficiency improvement project by JAICA. Under the project SLEMA will prepare a text book; ‘Energy Management Guide’ for commercial buildings, targeting general management staff along with a trail training using the guide book. Past President Mr. Ananda Munasinghe is leading a team of 9 members. |

‘Emission Standards for Stationary Sources’ for CEA |

| |
SLEMA has been contracted for this study by Central Environmental Authority. A six member study team is lead by Dr. Thusitha Sugathapala. Under this project, the team will collect and study data from existing industries and regional databases to establish emission standards. |

Training Program on ‘Electrical Energy Saving in Industries and Service Organizations |

The training was held successfully on 3rd and 4th October 2008. There were 26 participants for the training program. |

Annual Energy Management Awards 2008 |

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Award 2008 Merit Certificate was awarded to HJS
Condiments Limited recognizing their outstanding achievements in electrical
and thermal energy savings, at a ceremony held during the Annual Dinner 2008
on 9th August 2008 at Ceylon Continental Hotel, Colombo.

The event was held on 9th August 2008 at Ceylon Continental Hotel, Colombo.
About 50 members attended the event. Mr. E.M. Piyasena was appointed as the
president SLEMA along with a new Board of Directors for the period
2008/2009.

Annual Sessions 2008 |

The SLEMA Annual sessions was held very successfully on 8th August 2008 at
Ceylon Continental Hotel, Colombo. Hon. Minister A.H.M Fowzie attended the
event as the Chief Guest, and there were about 90 participants. The theme of
the Annual Sessions was 'Measures to Counter Impacts of Rising Petroleum
Prices'.
