Another project SLEMA is successfully completed is development of a distance learning course on Energy Efficiency Financing; Guide and Resource Materials for Practitioners This work is also funded by SARI/E and administered by Academy for Educational Development

| The program targets several distinct audiences; |
 |
| |
- Commercial financial institutions who can finance EE projects
- EE/ESCO businesses that sell EE equipment and services and develop and implement projects, including utilities as a special class of EE business
- Large end users, both public sector and private sector, managing facilities, which can be the subject of the EE investments and projects
- Students in energy, engineering, business management, finance and economics

This course is packaged and delivered in a CD-Rom format. The learning and practical objectives of this training is to build the understanding and capacities of the recipients and subsequently to support them to;
- Develop, structure and finance specific EE projects
- Build their EE business and finance practices/capabilities to do multiple projects
- Develop and conduct EE finance programs
|
| The course is developed by the foreign consultant Mr. John MacLean, Local Consultant Mr. Deepal Peiris and the SLEMA Project team and reviewed by an internal and external review teams. It is expected to complete work by Mid January 2004 |
